Driving License (SIM)
You must have an Indonesian Driving License or Surat Ijin Mengemudi in Bahasa is usually called a “SIM” before you hit the road to avoid penalty for a traffic violation in Bali.
There are two versions of Indonesian Driving License that you can apply for. First, a SIM A includes the right to drive a car and the second one is a SIM C which includes the right to drive a scooter or motorbike in Bali.
If you more than 17 years old, you can apply for Indonesian Driving License. The Indonesian Driving License is valid for 5 years after which it needs renewal.
What is the Requirements to apply Indonesian Driving License (SIM)
Documents required to apply Indonesian Driving License (SIM), as follows:
- Photo of the identity pages of passport.
- A copy of your visa.
- Your address in Bali.
- Your psychology and health screening results. This is not at the police station and must be done before you come.
- Required to do some tests.
It will take more than 3 hours to get your Indonesian Driving License if you have all requirements needed. If you can’t bear the thought of queuing for 3 hours, you can contact us to do it for you within 30 minutes and also we can help to prepare some of the requirements but you still need to come to the Denpasar Police Station (Polresta Denpasar) at Jl.
