Visa on Arrival (VOA) - How to Extend

It is now possible to get an Electronic Visa On Arrival (eVOA), which means you can arrange your Visa on Arrival before you arrive in Bali. This is great news for anyone wanting a speedier process in the arrivals hall at Bali Airport. The implementation of eVOA is expected to make a real contribution to encouraging the entry of foreign tourists and business people from all over the world to Indonesia.

Based on the Decree of The Minister of Justice and Human Rights No. M.HH-01.GR.01.04. TAHUN 2023 about New Visa Classification, a Electronic Visa on Arrival (eVOA) can be used to do :

Tourist (B1)

Conducting activities :

Performing activities related to tourism, and visiting friends or family;
Discussing, negotiating, and/or signing business agreements conducting field visits to production sites, mines, offices, factories (site visits); and
Activities related to treatment including but not limited to medical facilities or other health facilities.

Government Business (B4)

Conducting activities :

The period of stay in Indonesia is granted for 30 days. A stay permit derived from this visa is extendable.

eVOA application is submitted by the Foreign Nationals with the following requirements:

Check your visa validity to avoid the overstay in Indonesia!

Many foreigners miscalculate their visa validity and end up paying costly overstay fees. Before coming to Bali, always check your visa validity and plan your return flight carefully. A simple oversight, like booking a flight one day too late, can cost you millions of rupiah in overstay penalties, and in some cases even affect your future travel to Indonesia. Proper visa guidance is so important. With the right planning, you can enjoy your stay in Bali stress-free, without worrying about last-minute fines or legal issues.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)

What is a Visa On Arrival (VOA)?

The Visa On Arrival (VOA) is a permit that allows travelers from eligible countries to purchase a visa upon arrival at designated Indonesian airports, seaports, or land borders.

Who is eligible for VOA?

Eligibility depends on your nationality. Over 97 countries are currently eligible. Please check the latest official list before your trip.

How long is the VOA valid for?

The VOA is initially valid for 30 days.

Can the VOA be extended?

Yes. The 30-day VOA can be extended one time for an additional 30 days at an immigration office in Indonesia. You must apply for the extension before your initial 30 days expire.

Can the VOA be converted into a long-term visa (KITAS)?

Yes, it is now possible via a Bridging Visa. Previously, it was generally not allowed, and you had to exit Indonesia. However, with the introduction of the Bridging Visa (Izin Tinggal Peralihan), VOA holders can apply for a Limited Stay Permit (KITAS) without leaving the country.

What is the Bridging Visa for VOA holders?

The Bridging Visa is a temporary stay permit that acts as a "bridge," allowing you to legally remain in Indonesia while your application to convert from VOA to a new type of visa (like a Student or Dependent KITAS) is being processed.

Validity: It is valid for 60 days and is not extendable.
Limitation: It is only valid while you remain inside Indonesia.

What documents do I need to get the VOA?

You generally need:

A passport that is valid for at least 6 months from your arrival date.
A return ticket or onward ticket out of Indonesia.
The VOA fee

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Excellent service and amazing communication!

I sent requests to 5 different visa companies and these guys were the fastest to reply. They answered within around 30 minutes while some companies didn’t reply at all.

The communication was great from the very beginning — very fast responses, very helpful support and everything was handled quickly and professionally. They always kept us updated and helped with every question we had.

We will definitely use their service again in the future and highly recommend them to everyone. Thank you so much for your great work!
