The implementation of eVOA is expected to make a real contribution to encouraging the entry of foreign tourists and business people from all over the world to Indonesia.

Based on the Decree of The Minister of Justice and Human Rights No. M.HH-01.GR.01.04. TAHUN 2023 about New Visa Classification, a Electronic Visa on Arrival (eVOA) can be used to do :

Tourist (B1)

Conducting activities :

  • Performing activities related to tourism, and visiting friends or family;
  • Discussing, negotiating, and/or signing business agreements conducting field visits to production sites, mines, offices, factories (site visits); and
  • Activities related to treatment including but not limited to medical facilities or other health facilities.

Government Business (B4)

Conducting activities :

  • Conducting activities related to Government Business; and
  • Performing activities related to tourism, and visiting friends or family.

The period of stay in Indonesia is granted for 30 days. A stay permit derived from this visa is extendable.

eVOA application is submitted by the Foreign Nationals with the following requirements:

  • Passport valid for at least 6 months
  • Outbound ticket from Indonesia
  • Recent photograph

The VOA is initially valid for 30 days.

Yes. The 30-day VOA can be extended one time for an additional 30 days at an immigration office in Indonesia. You must apply for the extension before your initial 30 days expire.

Yes, it is now possible via a Bridging Visa. Previously, it was generally not allowed, and you had to exit Indonesia. However, with the introduction of the Bridging Visa (Izin Tinggal Peralihan), VOA holders can apply for a Limited Stay Permit (KITAS) without leaving the country.

The Bridging Visa is a temporary stay permit that acts as a "bridge," allowing you to legally remain in Indonesia while your application to convert from VOA to a new type of visa (like a Student or Dependent KITAS) is being processed.

  • Validity: It is valid for 60 days and is not extendable.

  • Limitation: It is only valid while you remain inside Indonesia.

You generally need:

  • A passport that is valid for at least 6 months from your arrival date.

  • A return ticket or onward ticket out of Indonesia.

  • The VOA fee
