BPJS Registration
BPJS or Badan Penyelenggara Jaminan Sosial is government institution that responsibility and provide for designed to provide social security consisting of healthcare, pensions, work injury compensation, and life insurance to Indonesian citizens. There are 2 types of BPJS, as follows :
BPJS Kesehatan (Health Security)
BPJS Kesehatan (Healthcare Social Security Agency) is a social security agency of Indonesia aimed at providing universal health care to its citizens. All companies are required to register their employee at BPJS Kesehatan and the companies also must pay the contribution for the employees regularly every month. The total contribution is 5% from the total salary whichis 4% paid by the company and 1% paid by employee.
BPJS Kesehatan currently has three tiers : Class I, Class II and Class III and the employee will classified depending on their salary.
BPJS Ketenagakerjaan (Social Security)
BPJS Ketenagakerjaan (Manpower Social Security Agency) is a mandatory for all company that registered in Indonesia and they must registering all the employee to BPJS Ketenagakerjaan (Social Security). The monthly contribution for BPJS Ketenagakerjaan (Social Security) should be paid by company and the employee. Amount paid is depending on the kind of protection and employee’s salary.
This programme will protect the employee during working time as well. Basic protection includes :
- Jaminan Hari Tua (Old Age Protection). This protection will benefit you once you leave the company. Company contribution for this protection is 3.7% and employee contribution is 2%.
- Jaminan Kecelakaan Kerja (Working Accident Protection). Will protect the employee during working hours suppose you experience if any accident. Full contribution by the company 0.24% - 1.74%.
- Jaminan Kematian (Death Protection). By this protection, the employee will receive the benefit if the employee die while working for the company . Full contribution by the company 0.3%.
- Jaminan Pensiun (Pension Protection). The employee will receive the compensation if they reach pension age. Company contribution for this protection is 2% and employee contribution is 1%.
What is the Requirements for BPJS Registration
Documents required for BPJS registration, as follows:
- Copy of company documents.
- Copy of id card (KTP) and family register for person in charge.
- Employment list and mention email address, phone number and salary details.
- Copy of id card (KTP) and family register for local employee or copy passport, visa and working permit for foreigner.
- Location of Health Facilities (Faskes) for each employee.
